To Brian and Barbara
What a wonderful day we had with the birds! They are fantastic! We enjoyed seeing them fly the beautifull Irish countryside. As it was a very cold day, Barbara brought tea and traditional Irish brack. Thank you so much for the great day!!
Peter, Alan, Wendy and Denny - the Dutch gang :-)
Hi Brian,
Thanks for helping to make last Tuesday one of the most exhilarating
experiences of our lives! To see those magnificent creatures in their
element was wonderful. Your enthusiasm
and knowledge of Falconry is infectious and your friendly personality added
greatly to the enjoyment of an unforgettable day.
Regards, Gerry.
Hi Brian,
A day spent with these magnicent birds is a day spent in awe. Being so
close to such skill, grace and strength was a privilege and a
thrill .Birthdays don't get much better than this!!
Regards, Aoibheann.
Hi Brian and Barbara
Just a few words on a great day with Brian and the birds last thursday. The day was perfect weatherwise, and the setting on the hill field is superb, looking out over Dublin, Meath, and Louth with the Irish Sea thrown in for good luck !
We travelled up from Roscommon in about 2 hours and 15 minutes and thanks to Brian's directions we were on site in no time after landing in Julianstown. I had expected a few hours in a falconry centre with some displays, bird handling to a minimum, and a lot of other people present. What we got was completely different - a one to one tutorial with Brian for almost 6 hours and a full range of birds of prey from the lovely barn owl, lanner falcons, the harris hawks and the fabulous eagle owl, peregrine etc, etc. We had a chance to fly, feed, handle, and appreciate all the birds individually. There was nothing artificial about the experience, we were in a huge field and the exertion to descend and ascend the hill was great excercise! We could follow the birds in a very natural manner, unlike a confined centre.
Brian is a gentleman and his empathy with the birds is something to behold. We are completely 'hooked' and we will be back. We didn't get to meet Barbara but she sent a lovely flask of tea which we had with the packed lunch we brought with us, Barbara also provided us with Mr Kiplings exceedingly good cakes, they went down a treat! Thanks Barbara.
All in all, a great day, memorable. I would recommend Newgrange Falconry for a healthy mind and body experience without hesitation.
Gerry and Niall from Roscommon.
Hi Brian,
Our visit with you on the 7th of January 2011 was a huge success. Even on a
cold day your warm welcome and friendliness gave a great first impression.
When I got a present of a voucher for a falconry lesson I had no idea what
to expect so I brought along two companions for moral support!! You
immediately included the girls and turned what they thought would be just
waiting around for me, into an unforgettable experience.
We all found the introduction to your beautiful birds fascinating. Starting
very tentatively with the lovely "Bartina" the barn owl, we were soon
watching falcons in full flight and enjoying a "Hawk Walk" bravely holding
our arms out allowing our two Hawk companions to hitch a ride!
When it was time to meet "Woody" the eagle owl we felt like we already knew
him due to all the talking he was doing all day from his cage. He was
definitely one of the favourites. After standing still long enough to allow "Tom" the Hawk fly through our legs and land on our heads it was time to
meet the secret special guest.
It was definitely worth the wait as "Odin" the breathtakingly huge Golden
Eagle was unveiled and left us all lost for words. After a great
demonstartion of "Odin" in flight we checked back over our camera at all the
graet photos we had and said goodbye to our new feathered friends.
From my first contact with Barbara on the phone to meeting you Brian, your
friendly relaxed and professional approach shone through. Your enthusiasm
for all things falconry was contagious and since our trip I've not stopped
telling everyone I meet about our brilliant day. I can't recommend the
Newgrange Falconry experience enough. We got great photographs that are up
on your Facebook page. I know I'll definitely be back in the future.
Thanks again for a great day,
Brian Mc Dermott.
Dear Barbara and Brian,
Hi!! How are things going? I hope that you are all keeping well. We are
finally getting to e-mail you with the results of Liam's special treatment
of Odin's feather that you sent to him at Christmas. Liam drew American
Indian symbols all around the feather and framed it. He really treasures it
and his memories of the days spent with you guys!! How are the birds and
pooches keeping? Glad to see Odin on the web site - Liam kept checking for
him! Hope to see you all sometime soon!
All the best,
Claire, Paul, Liam and Kyle
Brian
Thank you for such a wonderful experience on Saturday. I know you went out of your way to accommodate me and I do appreciate it.My friend Ann gave me a birthday present of "A Falconry Experience " It was a dream come true for me - everything I had imagined and so much more. I just wish my words could do justice to the wonderful experience.
Again, Brian, many thanks.
Regards to Barbara.
